Everyone in our family has gotten the call. Two ALMOST fell for it before others informed them it was a scam.
I have had them call a couple times. I love talking to them. I act like a real old guy and about five minutes into the conversation I blow a loud whistle into the phone. Good Times.
They left a message. My wife freaked out. Took a couple hours to calm her.
We called back twice from a phone in a conference room . The first guy was clealy from India. We wasted his time with bad info and then told him Vishnu(Hindu god) was gayer than Brian Boitano. Next guy was a Muslim and we did the same routine and told him Mohammad was a goat fxxker and married a six year old girl and that his praying position was just an invitation to be mounted. Priceless invectives from the other side.
My wife is a tax CPA. She laughs every time she gets it.
When I received one of the very early calls over a year ago, I had some tax complexities that had me very concerned. Contacted a tax attorney and he called them back, finally asking where they were located (they were using a phone number that was in the area of a major IRS center). The group that called was very “good” but while he called and I was checking further we both determined it was a scam.
Hanging would be too good for the pain they have caused people.
We got calls too - I told them to send an official letter to my address and the gal actually asked me what my address was - I told her to look it up.
