Trump is not telling most conservatives anything new about the media. We’ve known they were corrupt all along. What he is doing, and it’s exciting, is fighting back. That’s a first for so many. Those who knew Reagan knew he fought them by going over their heads directly to his audience. He had that ability.

I think the turning has as much to do with WikiLeaks confirming what we’ve all long suspected as it does with Trump.

Trump just galvanized the issue when he made the bleeding comment to Megyn Kelly.

Exactly. We were a diffuse disorganized rabble and now we have a focal point to rally around. A leader.

Even if he loses, Trump gets my kudos for opening up the playing field. We watched ourselves lose the culture war bit by bit, and then suddenly in comes a candidate who breaks all the rules and thrives doing it. He’s been David’s stone right to the head of Goliath.

We will never be the same again, even if he loses. We’ve seen our enemy knocked back on his heels, and now we know how to beat him.

Not only that but Ronald Reagan had a wonderful quality of self-deprecation, even if it wasn't totally genuine (and what politician is?); I remember him holding press conferences with a board of all various drawings the political cartoonists made of him, saying things like 'I wish I could get my hair to go like that!' and so forth. Can you imagine any of these jerks we have today doing that? In so doing, people realized that while Reagan was ostensibly laughing at himself, we was also lampooning the political culture that poked fun at him mercilessly for eight years. That kind of quality is totally lost on the artificial politicians of both political stripes that we see today.
