I don’t understand why foreign observers would not be a good idea.
After all, when we liberated Iraq, we had tons of observers there during their election.
The more busy bodies standing around watching, the less shenanigans can go on.
“I dont understand why foreign observers would not be a good idea. After all, when we liberated Iraq, we had tons of observers there during their election.”
Because the countries observing have ZERO interest in America being anything like it has historically been. American elections are NOT the business of the rest of the world.
Say for example Trump wins. The foreign observers hate Trump and this is beyond debate. So they file reports about how he did not win a fair and free election and start all kinds of mischief.
America has everything to lose and zero to gain from having foreigners watch our elections.
As for us watching Iraq, that’s a fine example. Invaders do monitor their conquered nations governmental processes. Are there any other areas of our government where you think foreigners should be allowed access to monitor us.
Bottom line, a monitor is standing above you. NO foreigner should stand above an American voter.
Iraq also required photo ID and inked the finger of voters ...
Both of which would be good ideas here.
