This trial will be an interesting gauge of the popular sentiment about the federal government.
If they are found guilty, it is because the jury thinks that the feds are “good people trying to do good, and being attacked by those who don’t appreciate the good they are doing.”
But if they are found not guilty, it is because the jury thinks that the feds are oppressive, heavy-handed brutes who exercise far more authority than permitted by the constitution, yet when resisted at all, even peacefully, not only respond with violence, but whine and snivel and curse and persecute those who resist their power.
Let’s see what the jury thinks. And if it is for acquittal, will the feds accept their decision, or take them to trial again and again until convicted.

I am glad to hear that Brand is there, but concerned that he might be arrested also. I remember when LaVoy was shot, Brand had left the refuge the day before and took the shofar with him back to Utah. There was a lot of discussion about that at the time.
