If the question is, did he to overcome his deficit in the polls, did he do enough to run the table of battleground states which he simply must do to get to 270? No, he did not win.

I do not know if he overcame his "deficit". I DO believe he will pick up more voters in key demographics after his performance tonight.

In the debates then, Trump did not need to win all the points, he needed only make reasonable arguments in a modulated tone and appear presidential to become the next president.

I ask for your verdict on that issue.....


I believe Trump did all those things. Was it enough to become the next president? We will find out on November 8.

I have probably been more critical than most on FR on his performance in the first two debates. He didn't do horrible in them, but I worried if he appealed to enough new voters. Tonight, he did very well. His base will be happy, but more importantly, he picked up voters (IMO, of course). Will it be enough?....I do not know. I pray so.

Regardless of who we think "won" the debate.....vote for Trump. The alternative is Hillary.
