Wear red on election day. What a great idea. If everybody did it.

How easy it would be to program the machine to change every other Trump vote to Hillary.

Obviously the code would not be written like that. Instead they will determine the candidate with the party with more C's in the party name and add a 2% randomized chance of switching a vote to that candidate. But given the complexity and input data it could be much more subtle than that.

You’re getting the new, softer hazing. Be grateful.

You know a lot more about it than i do. Call me old fashioned but im just really not comfortable voting on a machine designed funded supplied by a blatantly partisan left wing hack. Ah the pre-obama good old days...back when there was a rule of law.

Red is my favorite color, but what exactly would that accomplish?

Thanks! Humblegunner is the only one who continues to be a total ass. I think he’s just jealous that his gay lover is making new freeper friends.

For those who don’t know, many states issue paper ballots, but count them using a tabulator. The tabulator can be rigged using a data card to alter the results, even in such a way as to change a small percentage of them, or just enough to give a candidate the lead. Short of being a computer expert and having authority to examine the data card in the tabulator, the only way I am aware of to catch this sort of fraud would be to open the vault the paper ballots are deposited in, after being counted by the tabulator, and once the polls close, and then do a hand count of the results indicated on the paper ballot and compare such with the electronic results the tabulator printed out. It is doubtful than many poll workers will do this, due to fear of ‘doing something wrong’ or not wanting to take the time for a hand count. I firmly believe that this is the method Hillary and her Uniparty supporters plan to utilize to attempt to give her the presidency.

Here is an excellent video that shows exactly how this type of election fraud works. The worst part about it is that it could be done on a massive scale and nobody will be the wiser.

Another point of protocol:

When mentioning another FReeper, it is generally considered good manners to ping them.

It certainly is not good manners to cast aspersions behind another FReeper’s back.

On a personal note - I am well acquainted with humblegunner, have “broken bread” with him many times and I can assure you that your speculation could not be more misplaced.

Perhaps you were just projecting.

I do software, not voting machine software. If I were to write software that cheated I would not make it obvious. The vote rigging hack would be extremely subtle so nobody would find it. Point #2 is that the it is very unlikely the machines are reprogrammed each election. If it is the same software with just new lists of candidates, then the R->D vote switch hack would have to be programmed in well in advance of knowing the candidates’ names.

“”I’ll always vote via absentee ballot.””

I’m not positive that absentee ballots even get counted. There’s not much to be trusted about the system any more, that’s for sure. Never used to be that way - at least, out in the open like it is now. 1960 was something else but never proven and Nixon said to leave it alone!

Makes one feel like we’ve been living a lie all our years, doesn’t it?

Ok will you or someone else with freeper cred post something, suggest a way to protest voting on these machines? Feel free to take credit if it catches on. I will get ridiculed if i post something like that. More than anything I WANT MY VOTE TO COUNT. These machine shenanigans went on in 2012 which i know is part of the reason obambi won by a comfortable margin. Please just tell the right people to make some noise about this

” Can we demand to track our vote to make sure it actually counts toward the person we vote for?”

You sure can make that happen. Show up at your county board meeting and demand paper ballots. If members of the county board refuse, start a recall election.
If the state refuses to accommodate you, vote those suckers out of office.

“Maybe worse if that’s possible.”

Why not? There don’t seem to be any consequences (in this life) for Soros. Why should any of them change if none of them are held accountable?
