Donald Trumps Make America great again slogan and this Republican Congress's actions raise unanswered questions
Recently I appeared at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Penn., for a talk entitled Making America As Good As Its Promise. So you dont confuse the theme of my talk with the slogan of a particular presidential campaign, let me delineate the difference.
When I hear Donald Trump suggest that he wants to make America great again, it always triggers the same three questions in my head.
One: How is Trump defining greatness? Im not sure he and I share an understanding of what makes a nation truly great. For me, it starts with how you treat the children, the poor, the aged and infirmed, how you embrace equality as you labor for equity. Equality means that everyone gets the same in America, whether they need it or not. Equity says we commit to ensuring that all fellow citizens have the basic resources that will give them commensurate opportunities to contribute meaningfully to our society....

When was this?
Um, no ...
” Equity says we commit to ensuring that all fellow citizens have the basic resources that will give them commensurate opportunities to contribute meaningfully to our society....”
What does he think Chicago, Detroit, etc. are but prisons without walls? What is lousy education but a way to keep them there...with their hands out accepting a pittance from the masters who enslave them in a hopeless dangerous life?
Set them free. Give them 8 states and then we will never be racist again

Yeah I see how oppressed he is. Has his own talk show and written some books. Yeah the white man sure kept him down. What a whiner....

He is demanding we embrace communism, where all people are equal in misery.
It's funny, but racists like Tavis Smiley never acknowledge that we have one (and only one) slave class in modern day America - taxpayers. That is, of course, an absolute requirement for 'equality', as he defines it.
More worrisome to me, he deliberately acts as if there was never a war between the states that abolished slavery (talking about results, not original intent). The people of the United States fought each other - killed each other in massive numbers - with the end result being slavery being made unconstitutional.
Further, the social atmosphere in the US has been irrevocably altered. Blacks are not non-persons, and for Tavis to allege that slavery could return for black Americans while the sitting POTUS is half black is bull cookies. To racists like Tavis unSmiley, no amount of progress is ever enough.
Finally, the over use of the 'racist' label has made it worthless. we are told that the pigment of our skin makes us racist (if we're white), so what is the use of fighting the charge? If it is immutable, then should we embrace it, and perhaps even pursue it to its obvious end?
They’ve been enslaved for years on the plantation run by the Democrats.
Tavis and all black Americans have to finally face that the fact that the Democrat Party derives its power from human sacrifice.
That shouldn’t, and WON’T happen. Why?
1. The American people won’t allow it - I’ve NEVER come across any person who said that the wanted to own slaves, and I know that some of the people that I’ve met were/are racists.
2. Blacks are WAY to heavily armed to ever be enslaved as a group. Individuals - well, that can happen to any one person anywhere and at any time. But not to 35-40 million people.
This is just an incoherent political screed, thrown together to get Illary elected. Oh, and Tavis Smiley is an “ah sole.”
Is there even a tiny fringe group with more than 2 people in it that advocates a return to slavery? Maybe on the Democrat side.
“Why I Fear America Could Enslave Black People Again”
Democrats already have...how’s life on the plantation, Tavis Smiley?
Yep the gay is strong in that one. Needle went off the charts.
I know I could use a couple around the farm. I don’t discriminate though, I don’t care what their skin color is, as long as they’re Democrats.
Slap this racist retard, slap him again. Repeat as necessary.
Try over 227 years.
BINGO!!! Because you wrote it, I don't have to. But that is the fact of the matter, very matter-of-factly stated.
who cares what Tavis Smelly has to say about anything?
