Republicans never have been naïve about voter fraud. It’s just that nobody in power has tried to do anything about it. Maintaining the status quo has been more important than doing the right thing.
Bush 41 1988- enabled it -Motor Voter
Bush 43- 2000- large scale fraud almost cost him the crown
Bush 43- 2004- did nothing to prevent the same fraud for his reelection.
