> Voter registration forms were distributed inside the courtroom, and Judge Scanlon promptly directed the people to mail them at the post office next door. But Fryda Guedes, a staff member from the advocacy group Hispanic Federation, made it even easier. Ms. Guedes went through the aisles and collected the forms, saying she would hand-deliver them to the Board of Elections.

Is it just me or does it seem a bit foolish to give that kind of form to a random woman who claims to be from some “advocacy group”? She has nothing to do with the elections board and is not any sort of official whatsoever. Sure seems to me that she could alter or copy them, or rifle through them, or just toss them all in the trash on her way out of the building, and nobody would be any the wiser. Why is it OK to encourage that? I think she shouldn’t be anywhere near anybody’s voter registration form and it sure shouldn’t be encouraged.

But she’s obviously a Democrat! That makes it OK!
