Grew up in Dallas, TX, in the 70’s. There was a huge Surplus store right off of Interstate 30 near St Charles street, you could see it from the highway.

Some of my happiest memories were perusing the aisles and deciding what I could buy from the money earned mowing yards and clipping trees.

The one in Fort Worth had showcases full of military memorabilia, badges, pins and awards.

It was like being in a candy store.
