Quick’s pledge came in response to an e-mail that appears to have been sent by Erskine Bowles, the former president of the University of North Carolina and the former chairperson of President Barack Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. That’s kind of like being the former chairperson of Chancellor Adolf Hitler’s National Commission on the Sanctity of Human Life.
