CNN: Ryan's Job 'May Be Under Threat' From Pro-Trump Rebellion in House

Paul Ryan's job as speaker "may be under threat" from a pro-Donald Trump rebellion within the House of Representatives, CNN reported Wednesday.

At issue for the top Republican in the country is a Monday conference call with House membership during which Ryan said he would no longer defend Trump or campaign for him, instead focusing on congressional races to ensure a GOP majority.

Ryan's "position to abandon the GOP nominee has angered other Republicans who have expressed their concerns with Ryan's position on a private conversation call earlier this week," CNN's Manu Raju reported. "Why are these few votes important? Because if the House majority does stay Republican, Ryan needs 218 votes to stay on the House floor. He can only afford a handful of defections."

One lawmaker and member of the Freedom Caucus, Rep. Jim Bridenstine of Oklahoma, took to Twitter earlier Wednesday to express his disappointment with Ryan's lack of support for Trump.

At a Florida rally Wednesday, Trump slammed Ryan again for not saying "good going" after the second debate and suggested something nefarious was afoot with House leadership.

"There's a whole deal going on there, you know," Trump told the crowd in Ocala, Florida. "There's a whole deal going on, we'll figure it out. I always figure things out. But there's a whole sinister deal going on."

Phone and write your GOP representatives. Let them know that unless Ryan is removed from the speakership and a new Republican congressional leadership gets 100% behind Trump for the last weeks of the campaign, you intend to vote for only Trump/Pence and not a single downticket Republican.

Every representative is up for reelection and most could ill afford to lose 10% of their base vote. They are terrified of us, for these next few weeks at least.

Why wait for Trump to take office? Take him out on Nov 8.

I left a phone message last night letting my “conservative” congressman know that Trump is the only republican I’ll vote for on Nov. 8th EXCEPT those republicans who come out immediately and voice their support for Trump and condemn Ryan.

Everyone needs to do this.

Everyone I talk to is absolutely enraged at Paul Ryan’s actions. I’m half temped to drive to Janesville and protest along THE WALL he’s built around his house! (Yes I know he’s not there).

I didn’t like Paul RyanO when he was with Romney, and I don’t like him now. He acts like he won the lottery of power, and is sot drunk on it.

Trump needs a GOP majority in Congress (or at least it will make things easier for him if he has one), but it needs to be on his side. If the House GOP caucus can oust Ryan in the next few days, then Trump can make the case for people to vote GOP with a clear conscience. But without ousting Ryan there`s no way people are going to vote Republican down ticket in large numbers.

The newly registered Trump voters and Trump Democrats will only vote GOP down ticket if they know a GOP Congress will support Trump`s agenda.

Trump has his sights set on perceived enemies within, and it's tearing the party apart.

Real enemies. They were calling on him to step down a few days ago. And they've been selling us out for years.

I think this is BS. They’re talking big now, but when push comes to shove, they’ll vote for Ryan. They’re spineless.

Be afraid, Paul Ryan. Be very afraid. If Trump loses, you will still receive a portion of the blame for your pronounced lack of support. This reminds me of that scene in The Wizard of Oz, where the the Blackguard are marching to and fro inside the sealed off palace. As they march, they keep chanting; “Or-eeo, Orr-eo!”.

He didn’t want the job in the first place and now I think he’d be happy to leave it behind. He can already put “Speaker” on his resume, so no advantage to staying in the position any longer.

If Trump wins, he’ll run Ryan’s ass out to be sure.
If Trump loses, Ryan will be blamed for the loss.

He’ll be re-elected with 80% margins by his home district so who needs the hassle of being Speaker? In fact I think he burned down his own house.

Because if the House majority does stay Republican

Gaslighting nonsense from this “journalist”. GOP have a monster 59 seat majority. There is no chance the GOP lose the House. None.

“We need a smart, conniving, strong leader to lead. I have no suggestions.”

Newt Gingrich. The SOTH does not have to be a sitting member of Congress.

Open borders Ryan couldn’t even carry our State of WI. What a complete loser. Trump is the nominee. Man up you little conniving wimp. Resign your leadership post. You are both useless and not wanted.

Yes. He would say, “The Party left me, I never left the party!”. Or, he may temporarily become Independant, as with Ron Paul.

Paul Ryan needs to be asked this question: if Hillary wins, what will YOU do when she tries to confiscate our firearms?

Eddie Munster, will send out an

"URGENT FUND RAISING REQUEST" for donations to "FIGHT THIS UNBELIEVABLE ATTACK ON OUR 2ND AMENDMENTS RIGHTS"!!
