Pretty awesome technology so long as it works well enough....
All high-value ships equipped by 2035???? seems like it should be of vastly higher priority than such a slow roll-out!!
Why is all this information made public?
2035? We’ll have a man on Mars by then.
Or not.
It takes a loooong time to field retrofit anything - and the more complex, the longer it takes. It is maddening....
Ping. I remember a book I read ten years ago that had something similar ...by an author whose first name began with a J and ended with Head
Naaahhh.
Maybe we’ll have fusion by then.
Or not.
:-)
There have been other counter-measures. The biggest threat was the torpedo mine because you get almost no reaction time.
Bttt.
5.56mm
Hurray for Admiral Nimitz. I am so glad that this aircraft carrier keeps his name and legacy alive.
We’ve had fusion since about 1951. Now commercially usable fusion is a different matter. But it’s only 10 years away.
“Why is all this information made public?”
It’s a sales tool for the companies involved. Rest assured the Navy approved the release. The data that are kept secret are how well it works and what vulnerabilities it has.
Some published information is to mislead the potential enemies. Iran does this to a ridiculous level. They showed pictures of their latest stealth aircraft and it was an obvious mockup. They have discovered Photoshop, but do not have the skills to use it properly.
Here is an animated video of an anti-torpedo countermeasure, don’t know if it’s the same as the one referenced in the article.

There are ten aircraft carriers in the Nimitz class, including the lead carrier, the USS Nimitz. All of them honor this great man.
If Hillary is elected, we won’t have a Navy by 2035.
2035? We will have a lot more movies about men on Mars by then.
Aliens will have landed by 2035...
Thank-you. Since I kid in Pearl Harbor, I have been a great admirer.
