Messiah (Hebrew: משיח; Mashiah, Mashiach, or Moshiach) literally means "anointed one," referring to the priest/king/prophet's anointing with sacred oil; in Greek, this is Christos, "anointed".

"Christos" does not mean "sun god." The Greek "sun god" was Apollo Helios.
