He also lost his edge a long time ago. I remember him back in 1990 and for a few years more when he was first nationalized, he had some bite to him if he wanted.

I wonder how much changed after life got really comfortable, and especially after his first chief of staff passed away, Kit Carson.

Yes, agreed.

He is no longer on the cutting edge, and he hasn’t been there for some time.

Seems like he’s been phoning it in for a good while now.

I think this is a lot of it. I'm 66, a year older than Rush, and can feel some of the symptoms of that malady. I still love a political fight, still go to all the local government meetings and blog about them. None of the county commission, city council, or school board members like to see me in their meetings.

But where five years ago, I wanted to fight EVERY fight, now I sometimes let something to that I wouldn't have formerly.
