A lot of bears associate humans with food because hikers and campers are careless about trash and cleanup, and the bears, who are intelligent, become habituated.
If you have both a lot of humans and a lot of bears in the same space, you are going to have trouble. People need to accept that if they insist on visiting the wilderness, it’s going to be, well, wild.

Funny we have signs in Forests and game areas warning if you feed the animals they will become dependent on you and won’t ‘go away’.
Yet WE still hand out food stamps and FREE MONEY and are surprised at the results - the recipients become dependent on you and won’t go away.... etc etc
