The Venezuelan Constitution mandates governors to be elected every four years, but this years election may have to wait and wait.
The National Electoral Council is not saying a word about it, but the clock keeps ticking and the mid-December vote has not even been scheduled. When confronted by the media, electoral officials skip the question or matter-of-factly explain that they are busy dealing with the presidential recall vote requested by the opposition.

I'm serving as an election officer this year, following in my wife's footsteps on this. With 14 new precincts this year, our county in northern VA has gone out of its way to get registration and other voting information to all households so the pain of showing up at the wrong location can be minimized. BTW - here, two of the legitimate reasons for an absentee ballot are (a) working outside the county that day, and (b) being pregnant or having any other condition that would make standing in line difficult. Check your state's laws.
No excuses, folks! If you love liberty, use that particular box (of the four essential to liberty) that day.
