The real danger is over-hyping a storm that fails to fulfill media/government expectations. The next time a storm occurs, people don’t believe it and stay put.
Bump! I heard SC Governor Nikki Haley on the radio yesterday claiming all sorts of horrors for Matthew and I thought this very thing.
I just walked past the TV that had Shepard Smith on and he looked/sounded as if he was about to cry.
As I was turning the thing off, Shep looked pleadingly at the camera and said, "people are going to die" as they faded to a commercial.
At least I don't have to listen to how DJT hates the military because he wont pay more taxes than he owes any more.
If it ain't clowns it's hurricanes........
The MSM and its department of crisis proliferation has its hands full........
Most hurricanes end up being over hyped drizzle storms.
However, there are those rare storms that are the last place you ever want to be.
Camille, Betsy, Andrew in Miami, Ivan, Katrina in Mississippi.
Some of them are the last place you ever want to be, and if you are unfortunate enough to be there, there nothing you can do but hope you live.
General rule of thumb, if it’s a 3+, just go ahead and leave. It ain’t worth the risk.
They’re not overhyping this one. Google before and after pics of Pass Christian, MS as a result of Katrina. Katrina was a cat 3. This is a cat 4.
