Woolfe, the eldest of a family of four, was born in Moss Side, in Manchester, and grew up in the Manchester suburb of Burnage.[8] His younger half-brother is Nathan Woolfe, a footballer who has played for various clubs as a striker.[9] Both his parents were born in Manchester, his mother to an Irish mother and his English father to a British Jewish mother and a Black American father.[10]
