Child told school officials she couldn't wake parents up
McKEESPORT, Pa. Two adults were found dead at home of suspected drug overdoses after their 7-year-old daughter told an employee at her school that she couldn't wake them up, police said.
The medical examiner on Tuesday identified the victims as Christopher Dilly, 26, and Jessica Lally, 25. The bodies were found Monday evening in the house on Evans Avenue in McKeesport.

"Early indications are they may have been there for a day or two," Allegheny County police Lt. Andrew Schurman said. He added that there was evidence of drug use in the home, and that foul play is not suspected.
Police said the girl told adults at her school that her parents were unresponsive. When officers arrived, they found the bodies in the living room. Three children were inside the home -- a 9-month-old girl, 3-year-old boy, and a 5-year-old boy. The 7-year-old girl also lived there.
The children were all taken to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh for medical evaluation.
McKeesport police said a separate fatal overdose occurred on the same street earlier in the day on the 500 block of Evans. They said a man died in his apartment after overdosing on heroin.
Its getting ridiculous. This is three bodies in one day," neighbor Jordan McCallister said.
Mortal means won’t fight this tide (which is currently coming in the form of the soi-disant progressive people).
I know it’s almost a hobby horse of mine, but I get really irritated at the idea that if we could promulgate some “list of values” we’d lick our problem. People, don’t count on it. We learned about the futility of “knowing good and evil” in the Garden of Eden. It takes very little bible reading to get to that. Put your love and trust for direction in that sort of matter directly in a personal Savior who is watching every moment and knows how to play this “good and evil” game infinitely better than we ever could — even with the best set of static doctrines that could ever be formulated — because He is seeing from the beginning to the end.
No kidding. I never even saw my parents consume more than one drink. I had no fear or worries about them being able to take care of us.
How many kids have that constant stress hanging over them as they wonder what state their parent(s) will be in today?
It can get pretty sick too as the kids somehow blame themselves for their parents’ cop-outs.
Dilly-Lally.
I feel so bad for those poor kids.
I pray the horrible, HORRIBLE parents of these children burn eternally in the fires of hell.
When they cracked down on Oxy, people went to heroin. Heroin gets mixed with deadly stuff.
It takes souls that are themselves flirting with these flames to pray for such a thing.
We do not know everyone’s story from the beginning to the end, yet we throw ourselves into passionate cries as though we did.
I agree with many of the comments here, but one thing we do have to consider also. Some think this is related to a “desire to escape”.
Anyone priced pain killers lately? Prescription drug prices have gotten so high many people who would otherwise never consider illegal drugs are beginning to turn to easily available (too easy) heroin at cheap prices instead of the incredibly expensive and hard to get pain killers they actually need.
My former neighbor had 3 back surgeries over 30 years ago, and has been in constant pain as long as I’ve known her. She had a running prescription for Vicodin III for years, and that has been cut off now and a weaker drug prescribed, to get anything that will actually work, she would have to go to a “pain clinic”, shell out a lot more money, and convince them she actually is experiencing serious pain. Then the prescription, even after what Medicare covers, woud still be very expensive. Fortunately she wants nothing to do with any illegal drugs, but it really bothers me to see her at over 80 years old barely able to walk sometimes and constantly in pain due to back surgeries that didn’t solve the original problem to begin with.
Many people are in the same situation, but much younger, prices are astronomical, pain reducing drugs are much harder to get now, and they still have to do something, even if it’s wrong. It’s not about escaping reality to them, it’s about decreasing debilitating pain.
I know exactly what that feels like, I’ve hurt my back a number of times, I’ve had to crawl to the bathroom...crying from pain. Passed out from pain in one case. It’s not fun. I wouldn’t touch heroin, it scares me. Highly addicting and I know it. But at that time, I would have paid dearly for ANYTHING to make it go away.
That’s the position a lot of these people are in. I Have no idea of this is the case in this particular situation, it might well have been just doing drugs to get high, we have no idea judging by what we see in the article. But we also do need to consider the fact that we have a serious problem as well, that is not related to simply getting high. Pharmaceutical companies are miking billions and still raising prices with no oversight. Regulations have made it much more difficult for pain patients to get the prescriptions they need for pain at the same time. This incident may have nothing to do with that, but we don’t know. That doesn’t mean it isn’t still a problem.
Isnt that one of the planks of the Cankles platform?
Some things are best left up to God.
Amen!
My son is in his 30’s and addicted to heroin. He had it all. Excellent job as shop supervisor for major mining
equipment manufacturer. New car, vacations, cash. Young daughter. Intelligent wife....or so I thought, she eventually decided to join him in his downward spiral. I don’t know what possessed him to try it. He didn’t do drugs.
This started sometime around 2012 and I finally got CPS to remove my granddaughter in 2015. She is living with a maternal aunt and has a stable life and bright future.
Her parents, still struggle with sobriety, but the state of Wisconsin believes they should have input in their child’s life. They have objected to me seeing her. Taking it to court would cost thousands for legal counsel. I was told family courts tend to side with the parents. Especially, since I had direct involvement in the child being remove.
The women she is staying with is great. Sends pictures, video and updates. For now I am ok with the situation.
I have done everything in my power to protect her and her parents. It’s in God’s hands.
What angers me the most? The lack of drug education. Where is the “just say no” campaign? Where are assemblies at the school level to explain the dangers? You can become addicted the first time. Just ONCE!! Where are the PSA’s?
I see them for smoking, chewing tobacco. Instead, some cities want to supply a safe place to shoot up. Really??
We need to go “Singapore” when it comes to dealing heroin.
Sure, love the sinner, hate the sin.....right? Well, that’s all just grand when the only damage is to themselves. These scumbags made a CONSCIOUS decision to abdicate their responsibility to 3 children and in doing so endangered the very lives of these the most innocent among.
The bible says, “let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I interpret this too mean relative sin, iow drugs and child abuse and in this area I AM without sin.
I not only cast a stone, I am dropping an entire mountain on whatever soul remains of the scumbags. Also, anyone who cannot see past their own piousness deserves to be standing along side the filth when the mountain descends on them.
Before either of these things, they have to face the consequences of their behavior (financially and otherwise), which means we have to stop subsidizing it and thereby letting them off the hook.
I think you need to read your bible a bit more thoroughly.
No sympathy at all for the stupid druggies, but sorrow and prayers for the poor kids.
The FR libertarian drug advocates say this is no problem at all.
