Yes, he does have an eye for talent. I had the pleasure of seeing Kellyanne Conway on the NBC post debate show. It was my first time hearing her speak, very impressive.

In fact, it was the first time I had seen Pence speak. Vastly superior to Hillary's flying monkey, Kaine.

Look at who gets up and speaks before Trump at his rallies. They are upstanding, sane all American types. Hillary has nobody..

The media has been making a big deal over the fact that Trump and Pence aren't always on the same page on a number of issues (such as intervention in Syria). As you say, rather than this being a weakness, it shows that Trump is willing to have something other than a mindless yes-man on his ticket, while Hillary just wants a lackey who parrots everything that she says and praises everything that she does.
