Are you a useless eater?
Who should decide?
Shall we take a vote?
Are you a useless eater?
No. I'm a productive, gainfully employed, wealth producing, penny pinching conservative American who has never taken 1 oz. of "food aid", welfare or unemployment compensation. On the other hand I've paid immense amount of taxes over my 40 year (and counting) working career as a taxpayer.
I have raised two productive citizen kids who are now also paying high tax rates, in part to feed people in Africa, who like our own domestic parasite classes, are now on generation 4 of living on gifted food. Of course we also have the lovely situation where people are importing themselves here to go directly onto welfare, which again often becomes multi-generational.
Who should decide?
Ideally, each person should decide for themselves how much and to what charity, if any, they wish to contribute. Taxes, the taking of money from citizens by force should be limited to the absolute minimum supporting only the most critical tasks of the Government, if that.
Because we appear doomed to be ruled by bleeding heart types who have no problem with forcing me to pay for their altruism, I suggested my modification, so that at least my grandkids get a break.
Shall we take a vote?
Well that's what the left is always suggesting. "Lets take a vote and decide how much of your wealth we will force you to give to support people in Africa who can't figure out how to feed themselves, despite 50 years of help." I would prefer not to take a vote and to just be left alone, actually.
Thanks for asking! Ciao!
