Dang. Bad timing for me. Dad died last year. He and Mom have a condo in Sarasota, FL. Mom too sad to stay down there so stayed with us for most of 2016. We rented condo in Sarasota to snowbirds. Now USAA called and said, "since she didn't stay down there for 6 mos as a resident, AND we rented it out, its not the primary insurance AND has no hail/wind policy.

Gotta get on that today! Who do you FL Freepers use for hurricane insurance. We are on 5th floor out of surge area.

Sorry, I can’t help you. I just have regular homeowners insurance which may or may not cover what I would need in case some trees came down on my home. I would not have flood damage because my house is at a high enough elevation to avoid flooding. I guess I better call State Farm to see what I have just in case.......thanks for the reminder.
