Full title: Minneapolis taxpayers must pay public housing rent for Somalis that spend their income on travel back to Somalia
What a deal! Come to the United States, and if you spend your income (even that from welfare and refugee programs) on travel to Somalia instead of paying your rent in public housing, whey the suckers taxpayers of Minneapolis will pick up the tab. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports (via Refugee Resettlement Watch):
Public housing residents in Minneapolis will no longer need to pay their normal monthly rent when travel abroad erases their income, a change particularly sought by East African immigrants.
The board of the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority approved this week reverting to its previous policy of collecting only minimal rent during extended absences. The change takes effect once approved by federal housing officials, which is expected by year’s end.

This is appalling & completely disgusting. We have vets living in the streets, having to apply to charities for the equipment our gov’t doesn’t give them, people like my mother who have worked all their lives, contributed to society & are living on fixed incomes. My brother and I help her out financially.
A sweeping change can’t come soon enough. TAKE CARE OF AMERICANS!!!!!!! It’s not rocket science.
Living in Minnesota, I have seen and heard the most ridiculous and incomprehensible political decisions imaginable coming out of Minneapolis.
That city is overwhelmingly into political correctness. St. Paul is not even close, although they are fairly far left too.
This is the primary reason why the outstate MN people are overwhelmed when voting.
