Some are new to politics completely. They’re children of the Great Recession and they are living in their parents’ basement. They feel they got their education, and the jobs that are available to them are not at all what they envisioned for themselves, and they don’t see much of a future,” Clinton said.

She was referring to the children of the Great Recession who now live in their parents basement, and are new to politics. Not the young adults of the Great Recession, but the children.

A child under the age of 18 in 2007-2008 who has since graduated college and can't find a job they anticipated, and is new to politics, and, who is living in their parents basement

Granted there was an entire graduating class of MBAs who got the mighty shaft in 2007 and 2008, but they were adults, not children. A child of the Great Recession would have graduated college in 2011 with a BS or 2013 with a Masters, or 2015 with a PhD, all of which were under the leadership of President Obama, and cannot find a job that they anticipated, so they live in their parents basement?

This is politics as usuall with typical spin to try and correct a foobar. Sorry, not buying it, but hey good effort.

Some of them took what “lousy” jobs as were available and ignored any sense of entitlement they may have felt. They have mostly moved on up. The others ar resentful and are living in mommy’s basement trolling the Internet.

But reading Clinton’s words in context reveals that she was not belittling the concerns of young people at all and was, in fact, sympathizing with the challenges of entering the workforce after the financial crisis of 2007-’08 ushered in the Great Recession.

See, it's still Bush's fault. Nevermind that Obama has been Resident (purposefully misspelled) for the last 8 years.

“The words “basement dweller,” which she never actually said, started to trend alongside “basket of deplorables,” which she did say to denigrate large swaths of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s supporters.”

So the article is totally ok with her Deplorables comment, even defending it.

But basement dwellers ? They wrote 300 words to explain it and adore it.

The first amendment is truly wasted on today’s newspapers.

I find it interesting that she signaled out the child of the Great Recession. Thus, anybody under age 18 in 2008 is a child of same and would have graduated college in 2012 with a BS, 2014 with a master, or 2017 with a phd.

The group she refers to lives in their parents basement, and, is new to politics.

The interesting part is that they graduated under a democratic president, and, they could not find a job.

Interesting that she would refer to that crowd.

The adults who graduated with an MBA in 2007 new 2008 got screwed and there is not a more polite way to describe it. Wall St jobs dried up, Lehman went bankrupt, and a host or other challenges converged at a moment in time. The adult graduates could not find jobs. Knowing they had student loans to pay, they took jobs in other fields, such as retail or whatever they could find. When the market eventually started to rebound, and jobs became available, these adults still could not find jobs. The reason was that business hired new graduates over these wall mart workers.

It was a terrible time and two years of adult graduates got screwed.

But that is not who Hillary is referring to. She is talking about the children of the Great Recession. Those who were under the age of 18 in 2008 who graduated under democratic leadership in 2012 and could not find jobs.
