A Muslim driver screaming Allahu Akbar tried to mow down people walking in the street in Vienna, Austria and police, whove taken the 21-year-old into custody, are now investigating his motive, various media report.

Nobody was injured and police nabbed him almost immediately. But to dither over motive at a time when terror attacks are sweeping across the globe does nothing to protect the innocent. After all, it seems pretty straightforward, with the call of Allahu Akbar followed quickly by an act of attempted murder that radical Islamism might have played a role, right?
