In an unapologetically frank open letter, published to a Facebook page called Trek Against Trump, "Star Trek" actors, directors, producers, and crew members expressed their political stance that Donald Trump represents the opposite of everything "Star Trek" stands for and should not be allowed anywhere near the presidency.
"We cannot turn our backs on what is happening in the upcoming election," the letter reads. "Never has there been a presidential candidate who stands in such complete opposition to the ideals of the Star Trek universe as Donald Trump."
The letter was signed by J.J. Abrams (director of the 2009 "Star Trek" reboot), Scott Bakula (the captain from "Star Trek: Enterprise"), Eugene "Rod" Roddenberry (son of "Star Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry), many members of the late Leonard Nimoy's family, and many more.

I haven’t seen a single one of the Abrams Star Trek’s and don’t plan to!
Next you’ll tell me the Tony Awards and Grammys aren’t a Trump love-in.
Letter from has-beens to the WILL CERTAINLY BE!
Frankly, I don’t give a damn about “the values of the Star Trek universe,” whatever they might be, nor do I value the opinions of entertainers above those of the average person.
Stupidity and hyperbole. Shame, I have been a long time Trekkie - hard core - but this is pretty much it. There was no need for them to politicize a fandom.
This isn’t Reason. This is offended PC, so deeply lodged in their minds that they can’t see anything but IT. These people are effectively crazy.
And I am supposed to care what a bunch of egotistical, self-absorbed Liberal nincompoops, convinced of the overwhelming importance of their political opinions say because ... ????
Ya know, I was enjoying Bakula in NCIS New Orleans so I wish he had just shut up and acted. Now I don’t want to watch anymore.
The fact that these people acted in a sci-fi TV show matters not a whit to me. They see themselves as far more significant than I do. Never have I asked myself “Would Spock vote for this man?” Not even once.
People who think this matters are the type who half believed that the Daily Show is real news and “West Wing” was based on real White House events.
Gee, I didn’t know tv shows stood for something I thought that they were entertainment. All those years watching Bugs Bunny and then later Laugh-In and Green Acres, I had no idea that they stood for something profound.
Yeah. And once 2 lib directors proclaimed their antiTrumpism, 68 others followed along because they want to keep their jobs.
Lots of other Americans would like to keep their jobs, too.
Ensign Chekov got smashed by his jeep a couple weeks ago ( the new characters actor)...
Guess they don’t need patriot money.
Hollyweird freak subculture dislodge themselves from each other’s backsides long enough to make a Facebook posting, “Star Trek wasn’t about money...we’re beyond greed...Trump must be stopped...”
Then they get mugged by reality, are forced by lawyers to post the following:
“Trek Against Trump is not endorsed, sponsored, or affiliated with CBS Studios Inc., Paramount Pictures Corp, or the Star Trek franchise.”

Sorry losers, but when your own tribe sics the lawyers on you and won’t let you escape its orbit, odds of interstellar transport are looking pretty low. Now run along and see if you can talk your boyfriend into wearing his Elon Musk mask tonight.
Leonard Nimoy reported to have voted early for Clinton.
Twice.
This could be as influential as “Rockers Against Bush” was in defeating W!
