Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine stressed the importance of Hispanic voters and fair immigration policies in Orlando on Monday, part of a multi-day campaign swing through Florida.
The Virginia senator appeared at a roundtable discussion with Latino religious leaders at the Hispanic evangelical church...where he said the U.S. should not be a "deportation nation."
"We should be a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws," Kaine said. "Our focus shouldn't be on deportation en masse, it should be on people who pose serious safety challenges."
Kaine was introduced by Claudia Contreras, a 23-year-old undocumented immigrant...
Contreras is one of the beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy...which allows some undocumented immigrants...to get a renewable two-year work permit and be exempt from deportation...
"It could be taken away from me and many others," Contreras said, stressing the need for Hispanics and others to vote in Florida for Democrat Hillary Clinton...
"We need to build a community of respect, a community where all can be respected," Kaine said. "A nation where you can be respected no matter what your national origin, whatever language that you speak. ... We can solve any problem we have, if we let everybody sit at the table..."
The roundtable discussion, which included Florida U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, was closed to the news media...
Later Monday, Kaine was heading to a LGBT presidential debate watch party at the Orchid Garden on Church Street downtown...
"If anybody ever says 'my vote doesn't matter,' I say, 'Can I tell you about Florida in 2000?'" Kaine said in Lakeland. "So we have to have that attitude [that] we're the underdog til they call us the winner."

“A nation where you can be respected no matter what your national origin, whatever language that you speak.
A country where you can take from and give nothing in return.
A country where the big bad rich people pay for everything!
Yeah! How about fairness to the American Taxpayer you joker!
Ok . Let’s talk fairness.
We have folks that have gone through legal avenues. Done everything correctly. Waited years for the chance to enter the US.
Want to make the US their home.
Then we have illegals that sneak across the Border. Work and send the money home. May or may not want to call the US their home.
Which one should get the fairness treatment??
Go Trump.
Scam artists!
Tim Kaine calls for immigration fairness at Orlando roundtable as he sat at the corner???
Okay, immigration fairness means Americans have to give up their country.
And you are a racist pig if you complain about it.
And you are also irredeemable and deplorable.
And you are NOT a true American.
And it is obvious you need to be replaced with more aspirational immigrants who want to rape your wives and daughters if they are not wearing funeral garb.
Fairness to the citizens and those who followed the laws to get here legally requires the equal applictaion of the law which in turn requires deporting those who came here illegally.
He has a point. Since illegals have already proven their willingness to break a serious and important law, they pose a serious safety challenge with their potential to break other laws. All illegals should be deported because of those concerns, starting with those who have other criminal convictions. That would give the rest time to "self-deport" and avoid the lifetime ban on entry that deported illegals should receive. Deported illegals who are caught here should be locked up for 5-10 years before being deported again, just to make sure illegal reentry is not worth the risk.
Would Tim Kaine feel the same way about ‘immigrants’ if they were 95% Republican rather than 95% democrat?
I think not...

...but we should IGNORE those laws and turn a blind eye to those who broke our laws.
What a freaking idiot. But, he's a Democrat, and that's all they have. They simply cannot square that circle of being FOR laws and being AGAINST laws at the same time.
How about a little fairness to the US citizen.
Someone should tell Timmy that immigration fairness if for everyone who wants to immigrate to the United States to apply for a visa and for those without visas who are here to be given a fifteen minute head start after being driven to the border to head south. If they head north, the dogs will be released to run them down.
Another lefty attempt to confuse criminaliens with immigrants.
“Immigration Fairness”
Hmmmmm ..???? That means .. you let us do what we want or we’ll throw a tamper tantrum and everybody will be mad at you.
The LEFT does not know anything about being FAIR. I hate the word “fair” .. to me it says .. you have to let me play or you’re not fair .. whinny little babies.
If you are illegal why don’t you fairly get your ass out of our country!!
Perhaps Kaine would rather deport all the Straw Men first, then get around to those who have unfairly circumvented federal immigration law, that way he could appear as being compassionate, and at the same time do absolutely nothing to protect the sovereignty of his own country. Why should anyone even acknowledge the unfairness to legal immigrants this clearly and hypocritically imposes upon them?
“We should be a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws,” an oxymoron from a moron
Hillary’s favorite BS word — fair. I was surprised that she hasn’t used it much in this election cycle. Here it is.
