Question:
Was the “mic defect” on the actual microphone or was it at the sound board, which offers a whole slew of adjustments to mimic an actual equipment defect. It would also explain the mic passing the final equipment check before going live.
My money says it occurred at the hands of a sound tech at the board as per instructions from the director/stage mgr.
