It’s just the way they do it. They round up/down each candidate’s number then take the difference. They don’t round up the difference itself
I believe the gray sections (in the graph, at the source) indicate the MOE
I agree with a previous poster that Trump has lost every debate based on “debate norms”. However, it never impacts his standing because in a way, we see him as mocking the overall process. We all know how silly it is - they aren’t debates, just modified dueling press conferences with blatant bias. Trump is exposing that bias in a way never seen before (except maybe Newt in 2012). He ridicules people who we all ridicule in our minds. He’s us, and we are him. It’s why he will win. His support cannot be measured by conventional means, as longtime pollster Pat Caddell has been saying.

Geraldo just stated on Fox ‘n Friends that Trump has lost his momentum and is sliding in the polls.
The polls are all over the place and a fair number of them have Trump behind, I don’t see how anyone can be comforted by viewing a positive poll as “the real poll”. Add in the likelihood of widespread fraud and illegal alien votes and you’ve an election very much in question.

Yeah, of course you’re right. My brain’s still a bit muddy this morning - time for some more coffee.
I’ve been an Eagles fan since birth, so it made me think “Fly, Donald fly, on the road to victory!”
The scale in this chart is so bizarre—it is straight out of that old classic: “How to lie with statistics”.
Small moves are small moves—sticking them on a big graph is not helpful.
The Scaling it fine. Two months ago I wrote an email to the LAtimes Poll Survey Director Jill Darling because the scaling was biased toward Hillary, making some things appear that her margins were bigger then Trumps. I ask if they could correct the scaling.
Jill’s Reply to me is below:
TWO DAYS LATER TRUE TO HER WORD THEY CHANGED THE SCALING TO FAIRLY REPRESENT THE DATA.

Your point about the need for consistent scales is very well taken! We are in the process of working on making sure we are presenting those subgroup numbers in a way that makes good visual sense. What you pointed out about inconsistent scales is an artifact of the automated process of pulling in data and creating the graphs, and an oversight on our parts, not anything anyone here is doing to try to influence others. We just care about reporting our results!
Appreciated your thoughtful feedback, and wanted to let you know we’re already on the case. Should see an improvement in the information presented on that page in the next couple of days.

Well....that’s a psychological trick that may help me get through the days when Trump is sliding a bit in the polls.....I admit it...I follow all the msm numbers...and their story that Trump is slipping so far behind that it’s getting out of reach has me frustrated.....Florida, and Colorado....would love to see some seriously pro-Trump polls there!
But not to be blind-sided by one poll or another, I want to see more polls going the same way. And I'd like to see the perception part of this poll (Who Do You Think Will Win) show a Trump victory! Too many Trump supporters don't think he'll win
