NASCAR is losing popularity because feminized Millennial males have little interest in cars and don’t like auto racing. Professional Football is going to suffer the same fate as well.
That may increasingly become a factor, but they went out of their way to snub and even offend their core fan base several years ago, leading to a fairly noteworthy drop in interest, attendance and viewership. I know quite a few former NASCAR fanatics who are interested in dirt track racing or drag racing now. They didn’t age out, they left.
Speaking of “feminized Millennial male” and NASCAR, how about Jeff Gordon being the New York City neighbor in Chelsea Clinton’s high-rise? It sure ain’t Richard Petty’s NASCAR!
NASCAR lost me when the put the rule in place at North Wilkesboro where you had to be on the lead lap to enter the pits on the first lap of a caution.
After that I was done . NFL Lost me During the last strike. MLB at the last strike.
Now I go and do things that are fun institutions rooting for overpaid morons
