We also dont take part in home-school co-ops as we believe them to be a crutch.
Wow. A crutch for the parents? And if the parents are shouldering their fair share of the co-op instructional load, why is it a crutch to pool parental talents?

I know several families that do co-ops and it greatly limits their other opportunities to learn and teach what they want rather than what the co-op offers. Plus they are locked into the strict schedule.
