If the US government intentionally devalued the dollar, they would say that 100 pennies in today’s money is now worth 95 pennies.
If a toy car sell today for 1 dollar at 100 pennies, you’d only have to give 95 pennies to buy it tomorrow....and we’d still call it a dollar.
Don't you mean that we would have to give 105 pennies to buy it tomorrow while still calling it a dollar?
