There are many Indian mudzlums, but Desai is clearly a Hindu name. Mudzlums have names like Khan or Ali or the ubiquitous Mohammed.

There are Indian Muslims as well. I understand that. I looked up Desai on wiki, and a spot-check of people with that last name seem all to be Hindu.
