Hard to answer that.There are so many variables in play. If you are going to have a rouge wave would it be near the end of the Cut? Did the steering go out as they tried to navigate the turn? Did they simply mis judge where they were at high speed? Did the wicked currents which plague the cut play a part? did they try and dodge something they saw in the water? I don't know the answers to any of those questions.

I asked about cutting the buoy because I worked on a 65’ in NY whose cap’t. would do that regularly at high tide. (Only worked for *him* one season)
