It is awful about the mall shooting in our state. The mall is located about 50-60 miles north of Seattle. It’s a smaller community. Fox has reported on it a few times this a.m. - I should switch over to local news.
This morning I read through a thread that was started on FR last night. 4 women and 1 man were killed inside the Macy’s store (by beauty counter). The killer took off on foot and the mall is close to I-5 (major highway) and some were surmising that he parked a car on the other side of the freeway. Burlington is not too far from Canada, but I doubt he headed to Canada as there is a lot of security on both sides of the border. There are small towns north of Burlington as well as a small college “city”, Bellingham. Small towns and the Tulalip Indian Reservation between Burlington and Seattle.
The authorities said they were looking for a Hispanic, but based on the picture in the thread, at least some FReepers thought he looked middle-eastern. Based on what others said in the thread, there are Hispanics in the area and north of there b/c of the agricultural communities. Closest mosque is in Bellingham, which isn’t all that far away.

Hope they catch this perp soon and I agree with you, more middle eastern.
We are not safe in our own communities and we need a leader that will take this in hand and give local authorities what they need to fight this terrorism.
