If the podium is the trade off for no breaks then we come out way ahead. I don't see the difference in height making a difference to anyone.
Tommy Daschle used to use a stool behind the podium. Looked on Google for a picture couldn't find one but I have seen them before, oh well.
Will her podium be equipped with a mini teleprompter?
Sure it will. Height is a variable that makes a visual impact. That's why the rats demanded the equalizer. Height equates to power, authority. Someone you "look up to."
But all will not be lost for the rats. I predict that the camera will avoid catching both candidates standing at the same time. They will show closeups of one, then the other, but not both. They will not show Trump towering over Hillary.
EDITOR’S NOTE:
The presidential debate commission settled an early flashpoint when Clinton demanded a step-stool at the podium to add height to her 5’4” frame. Campaign Chairman John Podesta expressed concern that Hillary would be dwarfed by 6’2” Trump. The request was quickly rejected. The commission is allowing for a custom-made podium, which will accommodate the difference in stature.
(The difference is Hillary was ‘demanding ‘a stool so ‘she’ has concerns over the optics of Trump towering over her in stature. Though they denied her this a “custom made podium” still go her demands met.)
