You need smart and savy police leadership to know how to handle a mob turning into a riot. With our PC rules for the police and the crap that the Police Research Council (the leftist one) puts out, the chances of controlling a mob before it becomes a riot is nil.
Just look at the schmuck who was stomping on a police car in Charlotte, NC the other night. No one took him down - by gun, bean bag, net, taser, tear gas, nausea gas, shit gas, rope, butterfly net, or anvil.
The first rule of getting control of a mob, as I used to say in Police Science classes, is to identify the real leaders, who often stay in the third row of a mob, or in the background (now using communication devices to the mob leaders), and get them (the old snatch and grab technique).
Then you take out the first three rows of protestors (the illegal, violent ones, not the peaceful ones). Bag em, tag em, get them out of the area fast, charge them, identify them, jail them, and let the fucking libs pay their bail unless physical violence happens - assaults on the police, with objects, destruction of property, and arson (Molotov cocktails - need to shoot the first one who attempts to throw a bottle - that will dissuade all but the most radical who you want to take down, HARD.
If a mob knows that it will be physically broken and that serious arrests will take play, with piled on charges, most mobs will not attack the police. However, if you have the anarchists (Black Bloc), communists, esp. Maoists and Stalinists, and black extremists of the BLM, BPP, RNA, etc., then they will attack because this is class warfare to them. Make them pay.
Time to stop pussy-footing around and crack down hard enough that even DeBlasio will shut up.
