Last Monday I had outpatient surgery and had a bad reaction to the anesthesia. It made my behavior a little erratic. My wife was concerned and called the Dr. He told her to call the paramedics.

Here in Yuma County Az the Sherriff’s dept responds along with the ambulance. I had no idea any of this was going on. When the ambulance and the Sherriff’s deputies arrive they come in the house and talk to me. I’m sitting on the couch at the time. The paramedics evaluate me and tell me I should go to urgent care and get checked out and I don’t need to go to the hospital. I was cool with it. They leave and the deputies stay.

They start asking me questions; where I was born, where I work. I was agitated but cooperative. Then they talk to my wife and she tells them she was concerned because I wasn’t myself. She told them I walked into the coffee table and knocked it over before she called. Well that was it, I was asked to stand up and turn around, at which time they cuffed me. My wife kept telling them I hadn’t done anything wrong but they didn’t listen to her. I was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and taken to jail.

In court the next day The judge was pissed that I was even there. He couldn’t believe I had been arrested and had to spend the night in jail. He threw out the charge on the spot and released me.

Unfortunately I had to self report to our Security Manager because I hold a clearance and was arrested. So now I have to deal with that crap for the next month.
I am still puzzled as to why I was arrested.

“I am still puzzled as to why I was arrested.”

Which makes you and I “cop haters” according to some people because we don’t believe in the papal infallibility of everyone who happens to wear a badge.

Maybe these people need to give up their guns since they’re protected by such amazing and moral guardians of the public good.

You and I both know better.

FRegards,

Megan

Perfect example why you should NEVER talk to the police.

Simply explain you have nothing to say, respectfully decline to make any comment.

I realize in your compromised state that you would not have thought they would over-react to a MEDICAL issue, but there you are. A victim of over-zealous police “work”.

I have used this tactic on many occasions including traffic violation stops and sobriety checkpoints. I recently had a Community Police Officer knock on my front door to introduce himself and discuss problems that I might have noticed in my neighborhood. I calmly stated that I will certainly call the police if necessary, said thanks and closed the door while he protested and continued to try and engage me.

“Anything you say CAN and WILL be used against you”.
Make that your mantra!

Public Stupidity without a license. All players are at fault. The medical procedure providers, and both you AND your wife.

I have NEVER experienced or heard of any person subject to total anesthesia for a medical procedure, who is released without being able to act normally, NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES!

Of course if anger issues are present due to illegal drugs or whatever, when you are not under the effect of legal anesthesia, all bets are off.
