I love Trump and want him to be President as much as anyone on the TF Train. However, I think this is second day he’s been an hour late this week and I’m sure he wouldn’t do that in business. Someone up thread posted that his plane landed about 1 hour ago. I realize that there may be plane, weather or traffic issues - if so, someone should come out and let the crowd and us know. I also think that he gives interviews with local and national media prior to these events - whomever his scheduler is, they need to do a better job so he is on time or only slightly late.
I agree. We waited over an extra hour past start time for Trump at a rally in Fairfield. The extra wait didn’t bother me but the lack of communication did. Just a quick announcement that Trump was running late would have gone a long way. What made it worse was the previous speaker said that Trump was minutes away yet nearly two hours passed.
Thanks for posting.
Totally agree with you.
Ed Rollins made the same point to Lou Dobbs last Friday when Trump was sooooo late for his rally at his new hotel.
We can never know about the days to come
But we think about them anyway, yay
And I wonder if I’m really with you now
Or just chasin’ after some finer day
Anticipation, anticipation
Is makin’ me late
Is keepin’ me waitin’
And I tell you how easy it feels to be with you
And how right your arms feel around me
But I, I rehearsed those lines just late last night
When I was thinkin’ about how right tonight might be
Anticipation, anticipation
Is makin’ me late
Is keepin’ me waitin’
And tomorrow we might not be together
I’m no prophet and I don’t know nature’s ways
So I’ll try and see into your eyes right now
And stay right here ‘cause these are the good old days
(These are the good old days)
And stay right here ‘cause these are the good old days
(These are the good old days)
(These are the good old days)
(These are the good old days)
(These are.....the good old days)
Yesterday, in Estero/Fort Myers I thought Trump was clearly waiting until everyone got in the building. I was one of the unfortunate ones who was left out to scorch in the hot sun drenched in sweat to watch the rally on 2 big screens they had set up outside. Newt started speaking very soon after the doors finally closed. I thought the rally was running late because they wanted everyone who could get in to get in before the main speakers came out (Newt & Trump). The timing was too coincidental.
That being said, they could have done a lot better with the whole communications thing. The problem wasnt just the speakers inside not informing the crowd of anything meaningful, there was absolutely no one outside informing the crowd waiting there of anything at all that I could see. The line stayed in place a good 15 minutes after the doors closed, because nobody bothered to inform the people waiting in the hot sun in 90+ degree temps that they werent letting people in any longer (although I heard some regular people mentioning it to their friends farther back in line). Considering there were a lot more people there than could fit in the arena, it might have also been nice if someone official came out and let the people farther back in the line know that they almost certainly wouldnt get in, so they wouldnt have had to wait in line for 2 hours for no reason like I did.
The traffic was also a total mess with cop cars blocking off roads and entrances with no signs or direction about where people are supposed to go instead. If I didnt spend an hour driving around within a 2 mi. radius of the arena trying to figure out where to go and looking for a parking space (like many I eventually parked up over a curb in a grassy area in a strip mall parking lot), I would have made it into the arena. It was great to see all the support for Trump, but organizationally that rally was a mess and the line moved painfully slowly. How can they start on time when security only lets a small trickle of people in at a time? Its a good thing I saw Trump in Sarasota and Tampa before (those rallies were better organized and the lines flowed better too, but at least they got the big screens out this time for the people who couldnt get in).
