I always heard that Elizabeth was the arm pit of New Jersey.

I always heard that Elizabeth was the arm pit of New Jersey. New Jersey is a kinda unique state. It has numerous armpits and twice as many arseholes.

Elizabeth is one of those towns where if you find yourself there at any time for any reason, you done seriously screwed up.

My friend lives in Elizabeth. Lots of Pakistani’s. She owns a couple of rental condos and rents to them. Some years ago a group of them trashed one of her condos and moved out in the middle of the night. They had been acting weird so she called the feds and they determined it had been a terror cell.

The correct term is “The People’s Republic of New Jersey”.

My paternal grandmother was born there in the mid 1890’s.
It must have been a nice town back in those days.
Now, I’m sure your assessment of Elizabeth is spot on.

I always heard that Elizabeth was the arm pit of New Jersey.
When I was a kid in Brooklyn (late 50s/early 60s), we used to drive to Neptune City, New Jersey to visit my Mom's sister's family. We'd cross into Jersey and my sister and I would tell each other "Hold your nose! We're in Elizabeth!"

New Jersey has so many “arm pits” that it is hard to name just one. Elizabeth. Newark - more like the ahole. Camden another ahole. Hoboken - used to be afraid to light a match because it might have blown up. I think it has cleaned itself up a bit. Trention - always a crap hole.
There are some nice places in Jersey (not including the Pinies and mafia burial grounds), but I don’t know which ones are still safe and clean.
Guess Chrispy Cream governor hasn’t made much headway in cleaning up the state, if that is possible.
