Those are pretty easily dispensed with and would be reported in seconds.
Otherwise, an explosion is not a firecracker, it is a bomb. A bomb went off would be a common way of describing it.
I’m also betting that Trump is very well connected in the NY Police department. He’s lived there and spent there his entire life. He was just endorsed by the FOP. Guiliani is probably connected as former mayor in ways that we cannot imagine.
