I’ve never quite understood the “57 states” thing. If I recall correctly, Obama said he’d campaigned in 57 states, with one more to go. That would make 58 states, not 57.
I’ve given up trying to understand anything Obama says and does. Same goes for Hillary.

OOOOOPS! I’m wrong. According to this video he has visited 57 states with one more to go, NOT COUNTING Alaska and Hawaii. Sooooo, Buckwheat has our state count up to an even 60!
