Now a survey of unmarried people aged 18 to 34 found that around 42 per cent of men and 44.2 per cent of single women had never had sex.

Amazing how the liberal media can spin this story.... first of all, it's meaningless to talk about such percentages within a sub-group without any reference to how big that sub-group is relative to the entire group. Secondly, since when is virginity a bad thing when the people being referred to in this story are all unmarried? Virginity is status that ALL unmarried people should have. Now if the story had of suggested that they were married and still virgins, that would be serious cause for alarm. The problem here isn't virginity, it's a culture that doesn't have a mature and sensible view of what marriage is.

Nonmarital virginity is an excellent thing.

Nonmarital virginity + the collapse of an overall marriage culture, may have a different significance. It could be the failure of a nation to do the basic, existential thing that nations HAVE to do: provide for a next generation.
