Hmm something in the article is wrong...Math does not add up...Nov 28 is 10 weeks from now...
What did it get him?
What it has gotten him so far is silence from the Hillary campaign.
Were you not around when the media and the Democrats were making hay of Trump's claim that the judge could not be impartial because he was a Mexican?
Yes, but that was way back then, and I said at the time it was a very wise, and strategic, way to handle the issue.
Trump pounded the hell out of the whole thing, and I believe he did it with an eye to this falls campaign period.
He drew the venom out, now what’s left is a shell of an issue and it’s going to be very difficult for her to make much of it.
Which is why she is silent.
She's still using references to it in her commercials. She'll use it in adds in the Hispanic community. And if Trump brings it up again then watch it cost him again.
Which is why he is silent on it.
Sure Hillary may use it in her ads, but does it rise to the level of ‘controversy’ that will make the talk shows, TV, or even the Sunday morning shoes?
It doesn’t,
We’ll have to wait to see if I’m right, but for now at least, his killing it way back then was a wise move.
I don’t see why Trump’s lawyers haven’t asked for a mistrial, on the basis that the judge (maliciously?) released information to the public that he later admitted he shouldn’t have released. He just said, “My bad,” and put it back under seal.
And as to malicious intent, in his statement along with release of the information, the judge stated something to the effect of, “My integrity in not recusing myself has been brought into question...”
If this isn’t the first motion in the Nov 28 trial, I will not understand why not.
If Trump gets up there and says the judge can't be impartial because he's Mexican again I guarantee it will.
But fortunately Trump is smarter than that. He does learn from his mistakes and seldom repeats them.
I won't pretend to speak for them but I suspect that they are keeping it in their pocket in the event that the decision goes against them. Then they can use it as part of their appeal.
