Even a blind squirrel gets an acorn once in awhile. This legislation sets up a slippery slope for people of other countries to sue us.

Anytime both sides of the aisle get together with enough votes for a veto overide its cause for concern.

It was on a voice vote when they have to cast an actual vote they will sing a different story

Does he have a point...

I think so. But that should not prevent the 9/11 victims from seeking justice, IMO. Justice should be blind, as the old saying goes. As for any future cases, let the chips fall where they may.

As a side note, remember how Obama bowed to the Saudi king? I suspect that Obama will veto this bill not because of your friend's point, but because a lawsuit would expose the Saudi's deep involvement in 9/11.

That bill was passed unanimously in both houses. There should be no problem overriding the Muslim.

They will find a way around it. (congress that is)

Until the US Supreme Court discovers that Saidi Arabia has immunity from prosecution in the “one print” of the Constitution.

Any congressman or senator that goes along with this mookabookers over ride ought be put in stocks at ground zero.
Let the victims families show em what they think.

This is a free country. Why should any of us need their permission to sue anyone we choose?

This would not be a good idea and would really open the US up to similar lawsuits in international courts. In my opinion this is some lawyers wet dream that would drag on for years and the outcome would yield little for the families and incredible headaches for our own people serving overseas.

Make Odungo veto it. He will be off golfing while his robo-pen vetoes it.
