They can make all the changes they want and deal with the lawsuits after the election. The loser can always sue for any reason.
Trump, disaffected Dems (yes, there will be a lot), Republicans who might have been cheated out of votes (think, for ex., of GOP senators who now are leading-—say, Rubes, Toomey, Burr but who then might lose votes as the campaign goes along. In other words, they have an early vote lead, now would lose that); state AGs challenging the legality of changing state election laws-—it would be an attorney’s dream.
