Williamson decided he will auction them off to benefit Operation Warrior Wishes
The NFL has already ruled at least one 9/11 tribute out of bounds on opening weekend.
Tennessee Titans linebacker Avery Williamson wore a pair of custom cleats to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the September 11 attacks during the home opener against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, despite being told by the league to shelve them. On 15th Anniversary of 9/11, 'the Grief Never Goes Away'
Williamson was informed by the league he would be fined for a uniform violation if he wore the shoes.

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Mohamed Sanu wore 911 cleats as well.
Something rare to cheer for in the NFL. I boycotted. Nice that an ex-Bengal, even with the name, Mohammed, did something nice. Hmmm...taqiyya?
Wow. A couple of NFL players with principles. I applaud them personally, but the NFL has really jumped the shark. They are making themselves irrelevant to a huge percentage of Americans. It’s college ball for me from now on. And if anyone on the teams I support pulls this crap, then they are history, too.
If you fine him, how can you then support all the pink cleats for breast cancer awareness? Double standard?
And not fine/suspend the kneeling traitors?
Thank you Mr. Williamson and Mr. Sanu.
Pay the fine. Hey, NFL, rules are rules. Fine him a dollar.
Sanu was a teammate of my nephew at Rutgers. Decent kid.
Breast cancer = feminism = lefty cause = OK.
9/11 observation = love America = conservatism = No Way.
