Hillary Clinton urged supporters late Friday not to be complacent about Donald Trump's chances of winning the election, saying half of his backers were "desperate for change" but the other half belonged in a "basket of deplorables."
Appearing at an LGBT gala fundraiser where Barbra Streisand performed, Clinton said many of the GOP candidate's voters were "racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it." Trump earlier told a crowd in Florida that Clinton could "shoot somebody" and not be prosecuted —an attack that echoed a boast the businessman once made about himself. At the LGBT event in New York, Clinton urged the crowd to volunteer for her campaign, saying: "If you know anybody who's even thinking of voting for Trump, stage an intervention."
She joked: "That may be one conversion therapy I endorse. Just remember: friends don't let friends vote for Trump."
Addressing the issue of Trump's popularity, Clinton said: "To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the 'basket of deplorables.' Right? Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it.
"And unfortunately, there are people like that and he has lifted them up … he tweets and retweets offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric."
Her comments drew an immediate reaction from Trump's campaign, which said Clinton "revealed just how little she thinks of the hard-working men and women of America."

One of the big knocks on Trump is that he is too un-PC, and says what he thinks. But even he isn’t this far off the reservation in insulting a huge segment of the voters.
Hillary has a sound strategy—pretend you’re uniting all of the crazy one-issue groups—but has such a tin-ear for politics. It’s amazing that the power-mad b***h has climbed over so many bodies to get where she is with the awful personality she has and projects.

Nothing she says surprises me. Last spring (or was is in spring 2015) she commented that people were just going to have to change their religious beliefs. It was with regards to the latest Obama/judicial fiat - perhaps it was about the transgender bathrooms.
This is not surprising, because I believe most liberals actually think exactly that. Remember in 1996, how the dems were running ads saying that if republicans are elected more black churches will burn? What Clinton said is right out of the dem playbook.
I suspect that Trump will actually fight back, and hammer her for this, unlike all previous republican candidates who ducked, ran, hid, and apologized all the time.
