RUSH: In case you're wondering, I spent a considerable amount of time on the program yesterday reading and analyzing a very long op-ed opinion piece from the Claremont website. It was a piece written anonymously. And I didn't know what to expect. I mean, it was a hard-hitting piece.
It was a piece that basically savaged Never Trump conservative intellectuals for not realizing the stakes of this election. How anybody could do anything that would support Hillary had this author beside himself. And he was just lobbing grenades at these people with every paragraph. There hasn't been a whole lot of reaction to it. I haven't found a whole lot. Bill Kristol with a couple or three tweets made a guess as to who it is that wrote it and called it a bunch of sophistry and didn't take it seriously.
And there's a post at National Review Online on their Corner blog about it that really doesn't even react, just uses the piece as a reason to say something else about Scott Walker, who was not really in the piece. But I'll explain that. There hasn't been -- I searched some blogs, and I didn't see any reaction to this at all. What do you think that means? What do you think no reaction to it means? Well, that's one way that it hit home, that it hit home so that people don't want to react to it, just ignore it when somebody hits you with legitimate criticism, ignore it, don't amplify it, don't respond to it.
And then the other school of thought is that it was so off the wall that nobody took it seriously. But it was the kind of piece that if you are a conservative intellectual and a Never Trumper it was written right for you and aimed at you, it would be the kind of piece that would really tick you off and so you would think there would be some reaction. So far, none. But it's early. They may still be digesting.

Rush is trying to ride 2 skateboards at the same time and failing miserably......if he doesn’t shape up and get on board, he will go the way of Beck.
Never Trumpers consist of globalists and sore losers.
I will vote Republican this November only because Donald Trump is at the top of the ticket. We will see how things develop from there.
The only one he needs to ride is the nominee’s skateboard.
I remember like it was yesterday in Q4 of 2015 when Rush lost his ever livin’ mind.
Cruz and Rubio were the poster children for conservative advancement.
Trump went from 10 to 0 in .03 sec.
Limbaugh repeatedly told us how the targets of the article were his guys.
He split is pants on this one.
I really don’t know about Rush - he is just incredibly full of himself - , but the point is valid.
I wonder just how vindictive President Trump will be. Well, no, I’m not really wondering...
And I’m thinking of YOU, Paul Ryan.
The never Trumpsters are repugnant & selfish!
They are silent because at this moment, they cannot attack the unknown author. I bet there is a lot going on behind the scenes trying to figure out who wrote it.
Those who betray, hate being “betrayed” themselves. IMHO, a journalistic nuclear bomb went off, but don’t expect the so called journalist to report on it.
In time, they will all be fully exposed as the journalistic frauds that they are.
Best Election EVER!
Could be that or the thought of a Hillary presidency is scaring the hell out of him. She will weaponize every agency in the government against the people and the democrats plan on taking out conservative talk radio and conservative websites/chat sites once she's in power.
I haven’t listened to Rush much this year, but it seems like he’s playing the role of an observer in this election.
“..if you plant ice, you’re gonna harvest wind..”
Huh?
What is this truncated piece talking about? What is Rush’s point? Who is Claremont?
NeverTrumpers consist of globalist sore losers.
Both here and elsewhere.
The ampersand was redundant.
After I sat on the toilet this morning, I saw a pile of Bill Kristol in the bowl, and I had to flush it because it started to smell like 0bama in the bathroom...
It's not that long, and it's very good:

I have listened to talk radio less this year than I used to.
However I wonder if Rush is simply trying to beat Clinton... by NOT going all in for Trump. I think many crossover voters would not support Trump if ALL of the right wing hosts love him? I truly think divisive commentators could turn people away on this election.
Just as some people like the fact that both parties have issues with Trump, By not openly pushing him ,Rush helps keep Trump an outsider.. just a thought.
